Look after your 'McRostie'
Here are a few tips to help maintain your McRostie belt in optimum condition
Leather
An occasional application of polish (shoe polish is fine) with a soft bristle brush or soft cloth, will help keep your belt in prime condition. We advise you to exercise caution when wearing against light coloured apparel for the first few outings, in case of colour rub.
*Whitish -grey appearance: To remove and restore a rich shine, simply brush with a soft pure bristle brush or rub with a soft cloth.
*You might find this on opening your McRostie package. Don't worry - some connoisseurs of bridle leather seek this as a characteristic. It can occur, when the natural oils rise and dry out on the surface of the leather in certain temperature and humidity conditions.
Buckles
Brass: a proprietary metal polish such as 'brasso' or 'duraglit' will soon bring back the shine on your solid brass buckle - please take care to avoid the leather.
Prefer the 'antique' look - then leave your solid brass buckle to dull naturally.
Nickel plated (Np) buckles should maintain their shine for many years
